Retaining Walls can be straight or curved, built using a range of different materials such as stone, bricks, old railway sleepers, new treated pine sleepers, formed concrete or mossy rocks. In landscape architecture retaining walls can be used in gardens, usually on sloping ground or where there has been some excavation. Curved retaining walls offer an alternative to straight lines for a more natural looking garden.
